Application of remote sensing and freely available GIS software to estimate and map missing plants in mountain vineyards
Abstract
Missing plants (failed, dead or destroyed) in vineyards are an important issue affecting their productivity and quality. This work, demonstrates how deploying Quantum GIS (QGIS), coupled with multi-spectral remote sensing imagery, may be used by grape growers to detect, map, estimate and potentially explain missing plants in vineyard blocks at an affordable cost.
