The XIVth International Symposium on Grapevine Breeding and Genetics is held in Zagreb (Croatia) from June 28 to July 3, 2026.
The event is organised by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb in collaboration with Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation Split, Institute of Agriculture and Tourism Poreč, Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek.

The genetic variability among and within ancient grapevine varieties is a basis for the innovation in wine sector in the future. Therefore, genetic variability should be preserved and simultaneously evaluated through the most efficient methods.
The agronomical and oenological performance of six clones of Gamay noir (V. vinifera L.) were evaluated for two years in a high altitude en¬vironment (about 750 m asl) in Aosta Valley (North-Western Italy).
Grapevine rupestris stem pitting-associated virus (GRSPaV) is a widely spread virus affecting Vitis spp. Although it established a compatible viral interaction in Vitis vinifera L. without the development of phenotypic alterations, it can occur as distinct variants that showed different symptoms on diverse Vitis species.
