
Global geo changes, including climate: viticulture result on new viticulture-viticolture in a territory both further north of the region and at high altitude
Abstract
Context and purpose of the study. In relation to global geo changes, including climatic ones, the following research has been conducted: 1. In Europe’s highest vineyard (1395 m.a.s.l.) (Cargnello, 2014÷2021; Cargnello & Col. 2019÷2021), 2. Previously conducted studies in viticulture-viticolture and winemaking according to the “”Great Chain MetaEthic 4.1C”” framework of thought, applied philosophy, methodology, and the “”MetaEthicAlgorithm4.1C”” or “”AlgorMetaEtico4.1C”” from the “”Conegliano Campus 4.1C”” (Cargnello, 1985÷2021; Cargnello e Col. 1988÷2021) and to the EME4.1C viticultural ones presented at this GiESCO2025, 3. Studies in the plains within the “”BioMetaVersoEcoMetaEthic 4.1C Districts”” (Cargnello, 2017÷2024; Cargnello & Col. 2020÷2024). In 2022, the corresponding author extended the research to mountainous areas between 900 and 1250 m.a.s.l., starting with the viticultural-viticoltural and winemaking sectors for an oenology ME5.1C and therefore for a “BioMetaVersoEcoMetaEthic 5.1C-4.1C” wine-making activity and therefore for a ME5.1-4.1C wine-making activity harmoniously inserted into the territory. This work will present the very innovative oenological results obtained thanks also to the foresight, sensitivity, passion and precious collaboration of those who had requested and obtained the authorization to cultivate the vine in this land. This work presents the highly innovative results achieved in winemaking, thanks to the foresight, sensitivity, passion, and valuable collaboration of those who requested and obtained authorization to cultivate vines for vines on this land. A separate study submitted to this GiESCO2025 will focus on the resulting multi-productive vines, including table grapes.
Materials and methods. The vineyard is located in the Ampezzo Valley at 940 m.a.s.l. It was established and managed to ensure that the vineyard, as a beautiful and multi-productive entity in a strategic position for communication and marketing (Cortina and Olympics 2026), along with the grapes and wine, can be effectively highlighted with this logoand certified EME4.1C (Cargnello, 2014÷2024; Cargnello e Col. 2018÷2024). Therefore these specific oenological activities have been designed and conducted according to the “Sustainability EME4.1C” protocol of the “MetaEthicAlgorithm4.1C” or “AlgorMetaEthical4.1C” of the “Conegliano Campus 5.1C” and in particular for bioMetaVersoEcoMetaEthic5.1C-4.1C (Cargnello, 1985÷2024; Cargnello & Col. 1988÷2024) relating to: These specific activities were designed and conducted following the “”EME4.1C Sustainability”” protocol of the “”MetaEthicAlgorithm4.1C”” or “”AlgorMetaEtico4.1C”” from the “”Conegliano Campus 5.1C”” (Cargnello, 1985÷2024; Cargnello & Col. 1988÷2024) with particular emphasis on: 1. as a beautiful and multi-productive entity in a strategic position for communication and marketing (Cortina and Olympics 2026), 2. On the “”Well-being of psychophysical existence 5.1C-4.1C”” of all resources, including human ones, 3. on the identification, conservation, improvement, and enhancement Ad Maiora 4.1C of the existing, of everything that exists, including the landscape, 4. on the application of originality in process and product (Cargnello, 1986÷2011) for the production of a “”sur le lit”” sparkling wine from white Solaris and a rosé, using “”health-promoting”” yeasts, 5. oenochemical analysis of the wine, 6. evaluation of the wine according to: 1. the EnoConegliano-AssoEnologi evaluation sheet (Cargnello, 1996÷2023), 2. the EME4.1C115.6T sheet from Conegliano Campus 5.1C (Cargnello, 2011÷2024), which summarizes in 15 aspects over 5000 elements of the “”EME4.1C Sustainability”” of the “”MetaEthic Algorithm 4.1C”” or “”AlgorMetaEthico4.1C”” of Conegliano Campus 5.1C (Cargnello, 2011÷2024). To this EME4.1C sustainability evaluation, the assessment of the wine has been added concerning: 1. buyer satisfaction, on a scale of 1 to 100, 2. and the price the buyer is willing to pay for the wine, based on the De Rosa sheet (De Rosa, 1977), modified by Cargnello to include these two factors (Cargnello, 1981÷2017). This De Rosa-Cargnello evaluation sheet was recently used in a thesis at the University of Padua (Boatto, Cargnello, Lunardelli, 2018). Furthermore, these two wines were compared with the Prosecco produced by the winery. Results – For obvious reasons, only the most important results are presented here in a very summarized form: 1. Oenochemical Analyses: White sparkling wine: Alcohol: 11.2%, Residual sugars: 13 g/l, Total acidity: 5.73 g/l, pH: 3.13, Malic acid: 2.0 g/l, tartaric acid: 1.69 g/l; Rosé sparkling wine: Alcohol: 11.3%, Residual sugars: 13 g/l, Total acidity: 5.73 g/l, Malic acid: 1.97 g/l, Tartaric acid: 1.75 g/l, pH: 3.13, 2. Wine Evaluation Based on the Following Criteria: EnoConegliano-AssoEnologi Sheet: White sparkling wine: 91 points out of 100, Rosé sparkling wine: 96 points out of 100; 2. EME4.1C115.6T from Conegliano Campus 5.1C: Both wines were positively assessed across all 15 aspects of “”EME4.1C Sustainability,”” allowing the use of the EME4.1C logo; 3. De Rosa Sheet Modified by Cargnello: A higher buyer satisfaction compared to Prosecco: +8 points out of 100 for the white sparkling wine, +14 points out of 100 for the rosé sparkling wine; A greater willingness from buyers to pay more: +116% for the white sparkling wine, +129% for the rosé sparkling wine. These results are attributed to the innovative and sustainable EME4.1C features of these new productions in the region. Conclusions and perspectives. These initial results are very encouraging, especially considering the context of the 2024 production.
