IVES annual meeting 2025
The 9th annual meeting of the International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES) will take place in the Bordeaux wine region, France, from February 4 to 7 2025.
- Day 1 – 4/02/2025: Technical visits of wineries and wine tastings (optional).
- Day 2 – 5/02/2025: IVES General Assembly, key figures and editorial board meetings (live and remote).
- Day 3 – 6/02/2025: IVES Science meeting with cutting-edge conferences focused on technical topics of interest to professionals.
- Day 4 – 7/02/2025: Technical visits of wineries and wine tastings (optional).
Preliminary program
4 February 2025 – Technical visits of wineries and wine tastings (optional)
Day 1 will be dedicated to optional technical visits on the right bank of the Gironde estuary. Participants will have the opportunity to visit wineries and explore the production processes and R&D projects. Further details, including timing and location, will be provided at a later date.
5 February 2025 – IVES General Assembly (live and 🎥 remote) and editorial board meetings
Day 2 will feature the General Assembly of IVES at the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin (ISVV) in Villenave-d’Ornon. The assembly will start with a presentation of the key figures related to the association’s activities and financial status. This will be followed by an update on the editorial activities of the three journals (OENO One, IVES Technical Reviews and the IVES Conference Series platform). In the afternoon, the editorial committees of OENO One and IVES Technical Reviews will gather for a special session to discuss the future of the journals, share insights, and brainstorm new directions. Open discussions will allow participants to exchange ideas on editorial strategies. Participants will also be able to take part by videoconference (please register).
6 February 2025 – IVES Science meeting
Day 3 will be the IVES Science Meeting held at Château Duhart-Milon, dedicated to IVES private and institutional partners. Presentations will focus on recent research published in IVES journals, with a strong emphasis on practical applications for professionals.

🥇 On this day, the OENO One Young Scientist Award 2024 will be granted to Marine Morel, who will also have the opportunity to give a talk as an invited speaker. Her talk will focus on the article “The role of rootstock and its genetic background in plant mineral status: the relationship between petiole analyses and deficiency symptoms“.
🍷 The day will conclude with a convivial moment: a wine tasting featuring selections from IVES partners, offering an opportunity for networking and informal discussions.
7 February 2025 – Technical visits of wineries and wine tastings (optional)
Day 4 will offer another optional technical visit and wine tasting session, this time on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. Like the first day, participants will be invited to visit a winery or vineyard, with a focus on innovative production methods and new trends in winemaking. Additional information on the schedule and location will be shared soon.
