JOB OFFER: ASSISTANT – Editorial Production (18 months)
The International viticulture and enology society (IVES) is a not-for-profit international organization. Its aim is to make the results of the vine and wine research freely accessible. Launched in 2017, IVES publishes two open access journals: a scientific journal (OENO One) and a technical journal (IVES Technical Reviews). IVES also publishes a portal (IVES Conference Series) which brings together outcomes from major international viticulture and enology conferences. In this context, IVES wishes to hire a dynamic and motivated person to strengthen its team.
Description of missions and skills
Main tasks
- Layout and online publication of articles for the OENO One and IVES Technical Reviews journals
- Checking the technical conformity of articles before publication on the platforms of the different journals
- Consistency of the various elements and adaptation of illustrations (references, figures, tables)
- Carry out the page layout in accordance with the model graphic charter
- Finalize typographical checking of texts
- Publish the articles online
- Putting content online on the IVES Conference Series portal
Secondary tasks
- Support for editorial follow-up for the journals OENO One and IVES Technical Reviews
- Updating data or publishing content on the association’s websites or journals
- Support for the organization and participation in events organized by IVES (Executive Committee meetings, Board of directors, General Assembly, annual scientific conference, etc.)
- Taking notes and writing minutes of meetings or workshops
Profile and skills required
- Beginner accepted
- Bachelor / master’s degree in publishing / science communication
- Knowledge of graphic design softwares, in particular Adobe Indesign
- Good knowledge of typographic rules
- Knowledge of WordPress
- Good level of written and spoken English and French (B2)
- Interest in viticulture and enology
- Interest in the dissemination and access to scientific knowledge
- Dynamism, team spirit, autonomy, rigour and good spirit
Additional information
- Type of employment: Full-time (100%)
- Duration: 18 months from Automn 2024 which could be followed by a permanent contract
- Location: Institut des Sciences de la vigne et du vin (ISVV), Villenave d’Ornon, France + remote working
- Salary: 1,600 € per month (net salary)
