2025 – OENO One young scientist award

IVES launches the third edition of the OENO One young scientist award. The objective is to reward young researchers who have already published their work in the OENO One Open Access journal.

Award:

  • 2,000 € and an invitation to participate in the IVES annual meeting 2026 (in May, Spain). The winner will have the opportunity to give a talk (as an invited speaker) during the Science Meeting.
  • An official certificate will be delivered.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The applicant must be the first author of an article published in OENO One.
  • When submitting the article, the candidate must be 33 years old or younger.
  • The candidate must have obtained his/her latest academic degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD) after 31 December 2020.
  • Eligible scientific articles are those accepted between 15 June 2024 and 15 June 2025. Articles accepted outside this period are not eligible. The article must have received a final editorial decision to be considered as accepted. Articles accepted with minor revisions during the eligibility period will not be considered.
  • If selected, the winner commits to participate in the IVES annual meeting 2026.
  • The award can be received only once.

Criteria assessed by the committee:

  • Relevance of the topic to the wine-producing sector and the scientific community
  • Quality of the working hypotheses and the research objectives
  • Methodology used: adaptation or improvement of an existing methodology, development of an original methodology
  • Results obtained: innovative aspects and contributions to the wine-producing sector and the scientific community
  • Ability to critically analyze the results and the ability of contextualization
  • Relevance of the topic for the IVES Science meeting

Award and schedule:

  • Deadline for application: 1 July 2025 (00h; CET: Central European Time. UTC+1)
  • Publication of results: 31 October 2025 at the latest

 

Scientific committee:

The committee is composed of the members of the working group “OENO One editorial strategy”. This committee may require additional evaluation by members of the journal’s editorial board.
