Viticultura protegida: uso de mallas sombreadoras fotoselectivas como una herramienta para enfrentar la crisis climática en uva de mesa en el norte de Chile

The production of table grapes in Chile is of great importance, being one of the main established fruit crops with over 43,000 hectares distributed across a diverse climate range, from the southern limit of the Atacama desert to the mediterranean zone. Chile is also one of the leading exporters of table grapes. producers must confront the challenges posed by the climate crisis, such as decreased rainfall, increased heatwaves, and extreme temperature events during the growing season, mainly associated with desertification in northern Chile (Atacama and Coquimbo regions).

Viticulture between adaptation and resilience: the role of the Italian long-term observatories for vineyard energy, water and carbon budgets

Viticulture is exposed to a range of new stressors, that are challenging its sustainability and disrupting famous and well-established production regions. Steady increase of average temperature, recurring heat waves, altered rainfall seasonal distribution, drought spells, increased pathogens pressure, they all mix up with increased frequency, making every growing season a special challenge and calling for new approaches to cope with worrying scenarios.

Vitiforestry as innovative heritage. Adaptive conservation of historical wine-growing landscapes as response to XXI century’s challenges.

Traditional agricultural and agro-pastoral systems (prior to industrial revolution) often have the characteristic of being multiple systems, in which multiple crops are hosted simultaneously on the same plot. currently research suggests to study more in depth the potential of multiple agricultural systems in order to detect those characteristics of multiple agrarian systems that could allow modern viticulture to adapt to the challenges posed by climate change: rising temperatures with impacts on the phenological cycle of the vine, resurgence of plant deseases, extreme soil washout phenomena and hail storms, among others.

What drives Indications of Geographical Origin protection and governance mechanisms in the U.S. and European contexts? A contribution of the social sciences

There are fundamentally two different ways in which indications of geographical origin (igos) can be protected. The us approach favors the pre-existing trademark system through collective marks (cms), while the eu approach favors a maximalist approach via a sui generis system which promotes appellations of origin (aos). A consensus however emerges regarding the fundamental protection of origin against misleading, confusing and dilutive uses. Previous literature discusses these competing igo logics from historical, legal and international trade perspectives. In this paper, we depart from the field of social sciences, in particular from recent advancements in the well-established literature on proximities, in order to provide a reflection on the different logics underpinning the aos and cms systems.

This research explores the potential of text-to-video (t2v) ai models to revolutionize wine marketing by creating dynamic, engaging content that captures the essence of vineyards and their products without the need for traditional video production processes.

White grape juice consumption reduce muscle damage parameters in combat athletes

Introduction and objective: the practice of physical exercises in an exhaustive way is related to damage. Muay thai (mt) is a high-intensity sport that demands agility, strength and power, which can lead to fatigue and muscle damage. Grape juice is rich in carbohydrates and antioxidants, which can delay the onset of fatigue and muscle damage. The objective of the study was to evaluate the impact of white grape juice consumption, during 14 days, on muscle damage parameters in tm athletes.

Wine industry, digital transformation, and sustainability: a systematic literature 

This paper aims to (i) identify the state of the art regarding digital transformation in the transition to sustainability in the wine industry, (ii) analyze the adoption of digital technologies at different stages of the winemaking process and their contribution to the triple bottom line of sustainability, and (iii) present a research agenda that facilitates the development of the field, providing contributions to both literature and managerial practice.

Wine tourism in southern Italy: A surge in popularity and economic impact

Wine tourism has transformed from a leisure activity into a crucial part of the tourist experience, significantly contributing to rural tourism's expansion in italy. It has witnessed a notable surge in popularity in recent years, evolving as a key motivator for travel (antonioli corigliano, 2002; brunori & rossi, 2000; città del vino & censis servizi, 2011; garibaldi, 2018; 2019a; 2020; montanari, 2009; romano & natilli, 2009). The allure of wine tourism, driven by sensory experiences and cultural immersion, continues to attract a diverse group of tourists. The economic impact is substantial, with events and festivals contributing approximately €2.5 billion annually.
